Dental Illustrations
I wanted to so some dental illustrations and decided to play around with casein paint, pen and ink, and digital painting.
Colorized Sketches
Portrait Paintings
It's been a long time since I've posted. I decided to pursue a Dental Education and have been attending Virginia Commonwealth School of Dental Medicine since August of 2015. It has not allowed a lot of time for pursuing art, but occasionally I get some time to pick up my paint brush. Here are a few things I have worked on over the last several years. I purchased some guache paints, a water based paint similar to watercolor but more opaque and tried to do some small painting sketches. The first is my maternal grandfather in his WWII uniform. He suffered a heart attack two weeks after I was born and passed away at that time. I never realized how much we look alike until I painted this sketch. The second is my wife's maternal grandfather, followed by my wife and my daughter. The other two are master copies.

Blunt Dissector
Not too long ago, I bought a book on surgical instruments, as a reference, and decided to create some 3D clips of surgical instruments utilizing this reference. Here is an Endoscopic Blunt Dissector I modeled and have been using to research lighting, texture, and camera motion.
Here are a couple of stills I created, playing with background color.

Normally I would take these stills back into Photoshop and put some final changes on them, play with the color and contrast, but I want to get this post up today, so here you go.
